“Ys I Chronicles” is an action RPG that ported “Ys I” to mobile from “Ys I & II Chronicles” released on PSP and PC. There is only a remake of the famous series, and everything from the system to the graphics to the sound is well done. The operation uses a virtual pad, and you can move freely by touching and swiping anywhere on the screen. With this virtual pad, you can comfortably enjoy the ramming battle that is also a feature of Ys. And since the music can be switched from the original, PC-88, and Chronicles at any time, it is a nice specification for both original fans and newcomers.
A feature of Ys is the auto-battle where the game is decided by ramming. All you have to do is hit the enemy, so it feels really good to beat the enemy and accumulate experience points. In addition, the finely drawn furniture in the house, the laundry fluttering in the wind, the shadows of clouds running in the field, the voices of seagulls when approaching the beach, etc., are all well-crafted maps that make exploring fun. It’s content that makes me believe that the series is still popular today. You can choose the difficulty level, and it supports auto-saving, so it’s a great work for those who want to enjoy Ys at any time.
If you challenge the enemy head-on, you’ll take damage, so go around to the side or back to attack. Also, even from the front, it seems that you can avoid taking damage if you shift your body halfway from the enemy. When you take damage, if you stand still, your health will recover. The field is wide and it’s easy to get lost, so if you find a signboard, check it out.
